My Russian refurb SKS has a symbol I don't recognize. Beside the Square w/ line (refurb symbol), is an oval with a line through it inside a circle. Only half the image seems to show. Just wondering if it means anything.

Simonov says: Maybe a soldier dropped his trenchlighter on it and left a dent.

The Cyrillic "F" is a final inspector symbol (Tula) used during first build, the square next to it is a refurbishment symbol, applied as the name implies, at refurbishment.

The "F" symbol often lost when the stock is refinished.
