anyone recommend a 10 guage load?

Looking for opinions of 10 guage loads for waterfowl. I just purchased a NEF Pardner 10, 28inch barrel full choke single shot... havent shot a 10 much before this one but since I can't get my barrel for my 12 intime it seems I'm using this one this season..... any advice from other 10 gauge shooters would be appreciated...

I use the Remington "Sportsman" brand HV steel in #2. Worked well. It is also alot cheaper than the so called premium versions. I have the same gun as you and it will pound you in the cheek like George FOREMAN when shooting up at birds. I found that with steel the old days of the lead shot loaded 10 bores are gone. With steel this is a 50 yard gun on ducks. Years ago with #2 lead , well that was another story......

You will find that a 10 gauge will not give you as many different choices to choose from as 12 gauge. I use a BPS and for ducks I like #2 to #6 in any brand depending on what type of duck hunting I will be doing.
 
I have an AYA 10ga. SxS, 3 1/2" Mag that I bought and used to use, prior to the steel shot requirement. I have yet to decide whether to have the chokes opened up to be able to use steel shot or to go the added expense of Bismuth and leave the chokes alone. I hate to 'touch' the chokes as the gun patterns really well and using the old Federal Premium factory loads or 2 1/4oz handloads you could 'pull'em down' a long ways away.
Something that would help you out is the Lyman Shotshell Reloading Handbook, 4th edition. It contains a lot of good loads for the 10ga. If you're really stuck, give me a list of components you have ie: cases, type of shot and possibly wads and I'll scan some info for you and send it.
 
I use the remington sportsman at 1550fps, it works really well on ducks and geese. I usually use BB or #2 shot. I just make sure that I pull the rear trigger first otherwise the recoil from pulling the front trigger makes me pull both at the same time. OUCH.
