Anyone reload 45ACP using a 8 lb spring?

Looking to run some real weak loads through a government 1911 with a 8 and 10 lb spring. Anyone have a good recipe they have been running? Using 230gr lead round nose bullets.

sounds way!!! too light for my comfort level . even my comped .38 super open gun runs a 9-11 lb sring and thats with 124 gr loads . Yours may shoot but frame and componant life of your firearm may ( take a beating ) . Just my oppinion.

I am open to suggestions on light loads, I don't have the springs yet so if anyone knows what I need I would appreciate any help

I would start with a 16 lb spring and work up and or doen from there .
