Anyone reloading .35 Remington?

A cartridge which literally screams for hand-loading.... anyone doing it here?

Yes I load for my 35 Rem. but notes are upstairs in my reloading room.DAN>>>
p.s. I have the 35 Rem in a marlin up F/S or FT.:)

I reload for it in a 14" contender. No harder than any other cartridge. To make your brass last longer, make sure you neck size only.

I like 38.0 gr of Varget with the 220gr Hornady. Gives me 1925 fps from the 20" barrel of my Rem Model 8.

Yes I reload for it in a Remington M600. It is a real performer in this gun, especially with Spitzers, of coarse you can't use these in lever actions. Neck sizing will increase case life but might be sticky in a lever action with stiff loads.

The reason I ask is that I took my new .35R out & sighted it in. Factory Winchester 200gr sighted 6" high at 50 yards is 1" above POA @100yards.

From cruising a few web-sites, I expect that the Win is somewhere about 2055' from a 24" tube, but with the actual tragectory???

I wasn't expecting .350RM performance, but this seems truely pathetic. What's that going to work out to at 150? -6" ????

Any 180, 200, 220g load data out there? I'll be getting dies from a friend in a week or 2...

Regards

The 35 Rem is a great killer and you won't be disapointed in it's performance within it's limited range. I have never shot more than once at a deer and never taken a shot over 125yds+/-. This is not a long range caliber but in a bolt action it is lethal and you have the added advantage of being able to use spitzer bullets and greatly increased powder charges, things that you cannot do in a lever action, never the less it is a great caliber in a handy lever action loaded with 200gr Hornady RN bullets and puts game down better than the 30-30 or 32 Special.

Using Remington's "Rem Shoot" Ballistic Calculator:

Max. useful trajectory over 200 yds.: .35 Rem 200gr. Factory load

0 yds = - 1.50"
50 yds = + 1.67"
100 yds = + 2.34"
150 yds = 0.00"
200 yds. = - 6.14

Trajectory is a bit of a rainbow, but that's it for the .35.

I'd sight it dead-on at 100 yds, and call it a 150 yd. gun ( 1/2 " high at 50 yds., dead on at 100 and 3.5" low at 150 yds.
