Thinking on a new scope for a .308, between the vortex, sightron and bushnell elite tactical that I have handled I am leaning vortex for some reason.

Hi JD, IMO the Vortex wins.. Depending on what type of shooting you'll do the Sightron S3 is a hell of a scope but I love the lay out of the PST. The glass on the Sightron seems to be a smidge more consistant and I hear that after a lot of use the turrets keep their tactile feel. If you plan on taking this scope to the range and keeping it on one fixed power you'll probably prefer the Sightron. My friends and I like to challenge ourselves with different targets at different ranges and this is why I like the Vortex. The layout allows me to either dial in for distance or quickly pick my zoom and hold over. FFP rules! I have to admit I ended up selling my PST to replace it with a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 but I just finished building an AR .308 and I'm definitely mounting a PST on it.
