I just spent a week bow hunting near markdale. First 3 days, 30C with the humidex, then rain for the next 5.
I found a few trees that had been slighlty mauled but nothing serious until Saturday. The heat and the rain had really put a damper on the rutting activities. Also, the warm fall without frost has left crop fields very green and lush. Meaning pretty much everywhere the little buggers step out of the bush they have loads of good eats.
Most deer we saw where still in summer mode. Not really using travel routes yet, more just wandering from feed to feed.
