I know its almost more of a novelty piece (to me anyways) but I'm thinking about getting a working edge on my bayo. It's just been sitting in my closet since I bought the rifle with no real purpose but I think it would be cool to use as a bush/camping knife. Have any of you guys attempted this? Is the steel even knife quality? Any tips would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance!

i did one and it actually held a pretty good edge. i used it as a bush knife for a couple summers until i lost it. the sheath loops become quite loose over time

i did replace it but did not sharpen this one

i bot a cz858-4 awhile back and it came with a bayo sharpened , i must admit it was very well done and very sharp.

I saw a guy at the range that had his serrated. It has a home job but fantastic quality. He was some old ukranian guy. The thing was a saw and he said he hadnt sharpened it since he did the serration job. but he said tha you have to keep it oiled and clean or the steel will rust. It's not stainless.
