Anyone shoot 6.5 Lapua?

I don't own one, but had a chance to shoot a friend's and found the recoil noticeably lighter than my 308, and it shoots much flatter. I shot it everywhere from 300 to 900m. If I was going to build a gun for F-Open it would be near the top of the list of calibers to consider.

What's it like for recoil ( I assume light???) and precision? Out to what range have you tested it?

My rifle and scope weigh about 18lbs, so recoil is virtually non existent. I have only fired it to 500 meters, but usually I am shooting clay targets at that distance and not paper. Clay targets at 500 meters are quite easy if the wind isn't too strong.

My 6.5x47 weighs about 15.5lbs and recoil is pretty much non-existant. Im still working up my loads but right now its shooting pretty great at 100

I had a custom built on a Stiller action. Beautiful rifle. In the end, I didn't feel the costs of reloading components and required match dies and tools needed to take advantage of the accuracy level that this cartridge is capable of was worth the expense, considering the casual short range shooting I mainly do.

I sold the rifle recently in unfired condition.

I would love to own a 6.5 x 47.:) I think it is a great combination of low recoil,
great barrel life, and impressive ballistics. It will work well in a repeater action, if that is what you desire, or in a single shot precision rifle. It should offer the accuracy of 6BR, with a bit better wind cheating abilities. It looks like the
130g class of bullets is where this case shines. Of course this cartridge is for custom builds only, as factory loaded ammo is only available from Lapua at a premium price.:D

I have one and it shoots great. Very little recoil and very accurate.

I currently shoot 6.5x47L. Recoil is pretty light especially with my rig weighing about 17 pounds (with bipod/scope/mag).

It is really easy to load for. Pretty much any load I try is 1/2 MOA or better.

I can't really say on Barrel life yet. I have about 850 rounds down the pipe and it still works as well as day 1.

I really like 6.5x47L!

Here is the one I had built along side Tk's.
Stiller TAC30, Krieger #5 w/ 10 flutes, McMillan Edge HTG, and HS bottom metal. It weighs 9lbs 10oz as pictured.
Here are the groups from it's break in too.

It has hunted too, and it kills deer just fine with 130gr Bergers.

I use mine for shooting precision rifle, for me this is a great platform, recoil is mild hence you can spot your own shots, especially important when your spotter is inexperienced. Precision loads measure 2.778, which means they can be loaded in a standard .308 magazine and still seat within 5 thou of the lands.

Accuracy is superb, below is a playing card that was placed over the V-bull area of a figure 11 target at 800 yards.
