Just picked one up from Cabelas yesterday. Was on sale for $199. Always wanted to try a high power pellet gun. This one is 1200fps with alloy pellets and 1000-1050 with lead. Only tried lead so far. Had a spare 3-9x33 bushnell rimfire laying around that I put on instead of the 4x that came with it. I'm pretty impressed with the accuracy of it, sure you get the filters, but in general you can cover a group with a quarter at 25 yards. Going to play a bit at longer ranges later to see how it does. Just wondering what people use for pellets and if any seem to group better than others.

Is the Bushnell scope springer rated? I ask in case knowing this might save you some grief, as it usually doesn't take long for a springer, even a sub-500fps one to ruin the reticle on a scope not built for the double recoil of such spring piston actions. I know the Leapers scopes are all springer safe, but not sure about Bushnell's scopes. People have ruined $1,000+ rifle scopes by putting them on a springer and shooting a few times.

I have the Stoeger X20 (22 cal version). I have an old Bushnell Sharpshooter scope on it. Rifle has fired over 1000 pellets. No issues. Accurate little bugger. Varmints that tried incursions into my veggie garden (about 40 yds from my back window) can attest to its lethality...well maybe not...they all be dead. Longest kill shot was 75yds (squirrel in my pear tree)

Had no idea about the potential scope issue. Thanks for the heads up. The scope came on a trade I got from here that I upgraded, so I'm not too concerned about it. If it does fail I will be sure to make sure the new one is springer rated.

I had a Stoeger x10, good rifle. Unfortunately I loaned it to a buddy, it was in his house when it burned down.:( Haven't decided what to buy to replace it.

One of the guys at our hunt camp brings his up on all the trips. At first I thought it was silly, given all the HP rifles at moose camp... thought the least you could do is bring up a 22 buddy!

But man was I wrong. They’re a ton of fun to shoot. After a few “crispies” we usually end up in the Muskoka chairs on the deck taking pop shots at the decoys ~75 yards out into the lake. Once you learn your dope for the shot, you can manage hits with pretty regular consistency.

For an air rifle, I’d say it’s a definite WIN in my books.
