I'm curious if anyone is shooting a 22BR with 80-90 gr bullets. Obviously barrel life will be short, but it seems like it could be a very effective combo.

Your friend Joey got one haha , I did some searching for barrel life at the time his got built and the results were mixed some guys claim 2500 and some say 1500 I would sa 2000 at the least if you hunt with it more .
I had a few 22br's with 14 twist that went to 3000 rnds and still shot good enough to hit gophers all day when I was in Alberta so my guess would be they aren't to bad on barrels and they should be pretty cheap for you anyways.

I think it would be a very effective combo don't hesitate to give one a go I know I'm probably going to do one for myself but for the 80,s with a 8 twist

Locally, it has been used in F Open with some success. Performance like an efficient 22-250. I went with the 22-250 because of ease of brass and dies but a 6mmBR case will take far more abuse.

Accurate, yes. Bore life, no better nor worst then a 22-250

For a mid range zapper, very competitive. For 1000yds, go bigger.
