Anyone shooting/own a Marlin 39 TDS (16 inch barrel)?

Saw a fellow at a local club with one and did some research on them - apparently were sold from 88-95. I didn't have the chance to get a very good look at it as he was in a rush packing up but I've always been fond of short barreled guns for the bush. Anyone got one? Are they very accurate? I have always found the 24 inch barreled current version somewhat long for the bush. Thanks, Peter H.

Marlin 39

i got the marlin 39-as ( 24 inch barrel ) and picked up not too long ago a marlin 39 -mountie (20 inch barrel ) it's short enough , and is lots of fun. i wonder if going down to a 16 inch would take away from proformance ? good luck Joe p.s. they are both great guns and great shooters
