A friend has a 98 mauser chambered in 8x64S Brenneke and has acquired a couple boxes of factory ammo now down to 10 rds. I've looked high and low for dies to no avail save Europe. Could the barrel be set back and re-chambered to 8mm-06 ? Thoughts?
My 8 X 64S Brenneke dies are from RCBS, Group 'G'. You may be able to get dies from them?
Not sure how ambitious the Op is, but iirc one can send three or four fired brass to RCBS and then will make one a set of custom dies.
Be prepared to pay dearly for said finished product, but it sure beats unobtainium ammo.
Or the Op can contact one of the site sponsors for something along the lines of.....

Can 7x64 brass be used to make 8x64S? It's more available.
I read the shoulder on the 30-06 is too far back if FL sized in a 8x64S FL die ? Would running the 30-06 into a 9.3x62 die work to move the shoulder forward? Then into the 8x64S dies to fire form? With fire forming with COW what powder and charge would be sufficient?
