Got an old Lakefield Mark III that used to be the grandfathers gun. When i got it it would only fire sporadically so i took it all apart and cleaned out the gunk and what not reassembled it and it does the same thing. Could it be the bolt spring that may be weak?? Sometimes it hits the shell with authority and other times it barelt dents it causing a missfire.

I had one that did the same thing. The firing pin/striker on mine was stamped out. It had a slightly convex shape and it's rough edges would drag inside the bolt body. I cleaned it up with a file and it helped. Stiffer springs should help things along.
Mine would also go full auto in cold weather. The lube would thicken up and the striker would stay sticking out and slam fire the remaining rounds in the clip. Made for an interesting wake up call to clean out the excess lube.
