Hey....just thinking about picking up a new shotgun, and I don't wanna spend a fortune...anyone try those 28" 870 clones at Marstar? Or....have another good recommendation - I'll use this one mostly for shooting clays, and I might get into bird hunting with it.

I've seen real 870's so cheap there's no good reason not to just go with on eof them. I think the real appeal of the Norc 870 clones is to get into a 14" shotty without sacrificing your first born.

The Norinco's are made in China by Norinco, the real Remingtons are still made in the USA I believe by none other than Remington. I would also imagine that there are no licence fees paid to Rem for their design for its use by Norinco.

No should there be. Any patents on that gun have long since expired. Otherwise Remington could block there import into Canada or anywhere else the patent laws had effect.

I've worked on the Norinco. POS in my opinion. My customer had two of them and neither was reliable. For less than $400.00 you can get an Express. Still a decent SG even with the plastic trigger guard. For $700.00 you can get one of these with a 12.5" or 14" barrel AND the factory 18.5" barrel from Dlask.

I dunno. That's just what I was told from Rodger at Dark since he sells them and all.

Suspect187, did the guy tell you that Remington and Norinco shotguns are made at the same place?

Receiver is American. All the parts are chinese, "made" by a company most specfically not "Norinco"... however, they do subcontract to Norinco for the actual manufacturing.

Assembly is done in America, of course.
