Anyone tried a "reduced power" 10/22 spring and CCI Quiet? The 750 FPS stuff, not the ~950.

Does it cycle at all?

My stock 10/22 will cycle CCI and Remington subsonics no problem, but I'm trying to figure out a way to get the Quiet ammo to run in a semi....

I'd guess at minimum you'll need a radiused and significantly lightened bolt to get 750fps to cycle. I would also expect a 10/22 set up like this to beat itself to death with standard or high velocity ammo.

To give you an idea of what may be involved, here is a kit to shoot .22 shorts in a 10/22 http://www.midwayusa.com/product/355152/volquartsen-22-short-kit-ruger-10-22 which have similar energy to the CCI Quiets or Rem CBee LR ammo.

Cool! Does anyone in Canada sell those?

The kit won't work for the Quiets... It is all predicated on the short round... I have done two conversions... I got the 900 fps stuff to cycle, but not relieably for more than 20 rounds... Any debris would cause the bolt to react to the friction... I used the RT soft spring kit and parkerized bolt, which I had radiused and trued by Que... But I got tired of the malfunctioning every 10-20 rounds and returned my guns to sunsonic and SV machines... I put together a Savage MKII bolt action for shooting Quiets and I am happy with the performance. My MKII Quiets gun has popped many squirrels, grouse and bunnies...

Lol, so of you may remember 22 bb's. As if a semi auto would cycle that stuff either. I loved the bbs, wish I could buy some!
These quites are IMo a fad, stick with subsonic. If you're looking for killing mice, the 22shot works but I'd never shoot it out of a semi auto. I'm guessing it reccomends only bolt action anyway. I wonder if CCI state anywhere that the quites are for bolt only?

I have been shooting ceebee 710's in my DAR22. DAR CNC bolt, and reduced power spring on DAR guide rod is really close. A little picky on temp and humidity still. This setup is not broken in yet, so fingers crossed. SO quiet!

X2  I also run a Savage MKll FVSR with subsonics. Takes squirrels right from my kitchen table out the patio door with little noise! I have seen that you can just manually cycle the action of a 10/22 if you want to put them through it... not sure the point though, the MKll is far more accurate. * for me the 10/22 is just for ammo dumping cheap bulk packs of fully loaded 25rd butler creek steel lips into the fire pit at cans and poor vegetables we didn't pick in time.
