Anyone tried C-Products Lar-15 mags with Tavor?

- Do they work?
- Will they drop free?
- Will it load on a closed bolt?
- How do they look in the Tavor when they are used with a Coupler? (pics anyone?)

Thanks.

Do you have a photo of your mags? It'll be hard to say without knowing which version you have.

I've dealt with a lot of LAR mags, and most of them drop free as long as they haven't been dropped too much on the lips. Most stock mags only load to 10, but you can file down the follower posts until they take 10.5. Or if you have the flat bottomed ones, you can install new followers (I prefer the magpul ones). LAR mags definitely work in the Tavor.

I am talking about C-Products Defense LAR-15 Magazines,
Here is a pic:

- Do they work? Yes.
- Will they drop free? Yes.
- Will it load on a closed bolt? No, not with a full 10 rounds.
- How do they look in the Tavor when they are used with a Coupler? (pics anyone?) I don't think I have any pics laying around with them in the gun, but they look like a standard stanag.
Thanks.[/B]

As a pretend lawyer, on a website full of legal "experts", I would advise that you don't answer that question. I would also suggest you pour a drink, and watch an episode of Faulty Towers.

Hahaha. I asked because I want to buy some, and don't want the markings to wear off. This 10/15 round topic seems sensitive. Why don't we get it all out there. "They" are talking about it, shouldn't we be as well?

Eta: Questar (ASC?) mags are stamped, as are the CAA mags manufactured for various calibers. Are these ones too?

did someone answer about the mags and if the bolt needs to be open or closed? I hate my gen 3 pmags with the tavor for that very reason.

*EDIT*
I just got the C-Product mag! good timing!

So, YES. they do work on a closed bold.

Sorry, my bad...
No need to modify the mag.

So, NO. they do not close on a closed bold.
BUT! there is a trick I learned from my days in the army...
If you file the bottom part of the plastic orange follower (just a bit!) then you can make the mag to accept 10.5 rounds, that half of a round will let you load the mag on a closed bolt easy!
WARNING!!! DO NOT OVER FILE IF YOU WISH TO KEEP THE MAG LEGAL!!!

If you push your Pmags follower as hard as you can, you will see that they can hold 5.5 rounds, and that is why they load on a closed bolt.

Be careful when you mod your mags!!!

There's something about modifying a pistol mag to make it work better in a rifle that makes me uneasy. I know others have done it, but I'll just stick with my AT-15 mags. 10 rounds and it goes in perfectly on a closed bolt. And they look way better too.

I agree!
The AT-15 are awesome!
If I can only find away to clip two At-15 together... that will be perfect!

Alberta tactical sells a mag coupler for the AT-15 mags. If you look at the pic I posted in your your thread in the general disscussion, you'll see the at-15 mags in the coupler. But the coupler will require modification to work with the tavor.
