anyone tried fiber optics in REAR sights for action shooting?

a bunch of the M&P's I've seen have that kind of setup, but not an adjustable rear, just a FO rear. I don't like it though, I just want a nice bright front sight,that's it.
 
Given that for accurate pistol shooting you need to concentrate on the front sight, I'm wondering if the fibre optic rear sights would be distracting? I've got a fibre optic front sight on my 9mm Taurus. That seems to work just fine with plain black steel rear sights.
 
i have them on the hk. work great , no chance of losing that sight pic. they PSI sights.

***use a very sharp tool to trim the excess from the front sight rod. no halo affect after that. they melt it insteadof using a touch of crazy glue

I generally don't see them (rear dots) on anything with distance, as I am usually focused on the front sight anyway. The learning curve is not a big deal. for up close stuff (10 or under), I usually just put red dot between green dots.

I actually put a set of HiViz on my Glock prior to a recent tac course. I must say that in outdoor light they really perform well, and indoors they are okay. I found target acquisition to be easier and my aging eyes didnt have as blurred a front sight like on a standard set of irons. I just recently acquired a set of FireSights for my KP345 but have yet to mount them. I fully endorse the FO sights, but everybody's eyes are different and we each have our own preference.

Yeah... my problem with my current setup (I have a FO front and plain black rear) is that while I have no problems keeping track of the dot on the front sight, I find it a bit hard to quickly judge that front sight's position, relative to the rear sight - i.e. I see where the front sight is, but I can't tell if where it is is the right place, if that makes any sense. The rear notch on the cz-usa competition sight is too deep (too long in the up/down direction) for me to try and centre the dot, if I do that, it ends up shooting low. I tried covering up the bottom part of the notch with a patch, painting it black, and that kinda works, but (a) the patches slide off, and (b) is makes the notch tiny, I find, which makes it hard to tell, on quick shots, just how well aligned I am. On long, accurate shots, it's not a problem, since (as others mentioned above), I just use the post, and carefuly align everything, no problem...

Since I like the FO front, I guess I'll try the FO rear too, see how that works for me....
