Hi everyone,

I have a thing for short-barreled O/U shotguns and have owned just about them all at one time or another. A few years back a Canadian outfit named Seraphim Armoury introduced a gun they were planning on importing called the Pale Rider.

I have owned a couple of their 1911 pistols and was very happy with them, and was even happier to see this little shotgun with the right combination of features from all the others I'd owned, but I seem to recall their website said "coming soon" for ever and ever. To be fair, I also recall their website said something about watching their social media feed for updates, and for a luddite like me that just wasn't going to happen.

Anyway, I just found out that they were ultimately released about a year a go and the first import run sold out pretty fast and nothing has come in since. So, I would like to know if anyone out there has one and what they think. How do they compare to say a Ricol, how is the fit, does it have a one or two-piece barrel selector/safety, how is the POA vs. the POI, and most importantly do you know where I can still get one?

Thanks for looking!

I owned one until recently, it was better quality than either of my Ricol's and has mechanical triggers, super well made and shoots as well or better than any of the half a dozen short doubles I've had. The only short barreled shot gun I like better are the sxs HUGLU's that Canada ammo have, they are absolutely the best. BTW I bought my Pale Rider from Marstar on sale for $500

And another bump to try to catch the eye of the weekend crowd. There's got to be more than one person on here who has one.

Also wondering if anyone's tried the Lazer Arms XO12 which appears to be very similar but with slightly different furniture.

Thanks. Those caught my eye as well when they first came out. I had a Ricol way back and while know some prefer them, I never liked the dual triggers so the Desperado appealed to me. But it's a little ornate for me.

I like the simplicity and extremely small OAL of the Pale Rider.
