Anyone try Norinco 308 in their modern hunter?

I don't have a MH. However, I think if you are spending 5k plus on a rifle at least buy some decent ammo for it..

The topic of shooting norinco in a gas gun for plinking, would be more at home in the black and green rifles section.

If the topic being discussed was how to handload for said gas gun to achieve the most accuracy possible, then it would pertain to the precision forum.

This thread and many others have demonstrated the MH is NOT a precision rifle using the rather simplistic def. of 1/2MOA (ie <0.5" 100yd/m 5 shot groups). A precision 308 will consistently shot these 5 shot .5" groups.

Using NORC ammo for precision shooting is a waste of time and should not be discuss in the precision forum.

Thanks OP for asking the question of using cheap ammo in a precision rifle. Answer thus far is NORC should have minimal wear on barrel, great for warming up barrel, more than adequate for clay/steel, waste of time for precision. Where else would you ask this question???

My range bag has a box of NORC for end of day clay blasting. Who doesn't luv reactive targets, watching the clay blow up into smithereens. Not wasting my expensive handloads on plinking.

I'm pretty sure the MH manual says offshore surplus is a certain path to voiding your warranty.

If you want "cheap" ammo to shoot, there are other options. Not nearly as economical as norc but the way I see it, if you buy a 5k rifle and are insistent on voiding the warranty, reload your rounds.

It's funny how reloading is frowned on by builders. If you blow up your gun with a bad load then that's your fault.... but voiding all warranty because a guy was trying his best to get a sub moa group out of his MH is a bit much.

ya its true its their rifle, but its sorta like watching your neighbor wash his Porsche with a belt sander...you just have to say something LOL

More like your neighbor wanting to wash his porsche with a belt sander but first he wants to post it in the precision car detailing forum to ask about it .

Then he and his buddys whine when they find out precision car detailers dont think its the best idea.

 belt sander? Norc ammo should have minimal wear on his barrel. FFS who cares what he shoots?
