Anyone try Norinco 308 in their modern hunter?

So i went and did some grouping with the norinco steel cased .308 through my modern hunter, Vortex Viper hs t 4-16. No bipod, resting off of mag. Gun did not explode.

Those are some of the best groups to date that I've seen

Haha there's always one. Sure next time im out i will shoot some 5 round groups and take photos. But really for the price i cant complain about these 3 rounders haha

Nice post Eldarbo, I was thinking when I first read this thread that it would be funny if Norinco ammo would prove to shoot some great groups in the MH.
Has a 10 round MOA group ever been posted with any ammo in the MH?
There sure seems to be a lack of great groups being posted for such an expensive target rifle.

yeah i know, no offense to any other mh owners but i think alot of them just like expensive guns and dont shoot alot. To each their own thats totally fine; but i plan on thoroughly testing this rifles capabilities. Next time i'm out i'm going to shoot norinco and hornady at multiple distances and larger groups.

Its a 308 ffs for those talking about barrel wear, jeez ye got 5000 plus rounds before ye see wear on a 308. OP go ahead an shoot yer norc ammo, is it gonna produce match results? Maybe not, although the groups you posted were good. Feck we're not talking a 6.4 284 were every shot brings ya closer to a re barrel.

Now shoot 5-10 round groups.

Yup. 5 rounds minimum for group size claims IMO. And it's amazing how much stuff opens up when you do 10 round groups.

OP that's some great shooting. And you're right. For the money there should be dozens of threads full of sub MOA groups from MH owners. Props to you.

No doubt. Get off your high horses guys. Decent training, excellent plinking, acceptable accuracy and likely a great coyote and gopher round with your (maybe/maybe not) favorite rifle. Right on OP. The rest of you, keep wiping down your safe queens and wearing out your keyboards...

Haha.

Awesome. I think those are the best results I've seen from the MH, and all with Norinco. haha.

Good work. Don't let others bring you down. It's just a gun. A rediculously expensive gun.

Did some 5 round groups with norinco through the hunter today, crazy wind (obviously not affecting the bullet at 100m, but the wind was messing with me a bit blowing dust in my face etc.) Resting off of the mag again, anyways enough of the excuses here are three groups that were the average size. The grey circles are approx 3" in diameter.

Onetwentyish how many times do i have to say it, your speculation based off of zero experience relating to my question is NOT WANTED HERE. I'm sure you have more important things to do than bother me please do not reply any more. My M305s shoot 4 inch groups with norc ammo, my savage about 1 to 1 and a half inches...wanted to know if the MH is capable of the same, not you telling me which guns im allowed to shoot norinco out of - thanks.

I love it when a guy posts in the precision rifle forum and gets a real answer from someone who loves precision shooting and doesn't like it so he complains about it.

This may have been taken better in the black and green precision rifle forum, but it belongs in the black and green forum.

I have used a number of different brands of ammo in my days and you have done an incredible job using Norc 308s.

Average grouping was 1 moa such as in pic 2. Worst group was 2 inches, that was one out of 10, 3 shot groups. Perfectly acceptable and good training.

Brah totally not needed, check out the groups i posted i totally proved him wrong haha relax and enjoy the thread.

I dont even see you getting consistent 2 or 3 shot groups in your 5 shot groups.

This is a precision rifle forum and your posting groups that are not very impressive.

Holy smokes dude you are super negative, please get this negative losing mind set out of this thread, not promoting anything conducive to good training or learning. And 1 or 2 inches with norinco out of any gun is definitely impressive! Haha

Id call it a winning mind set. Not sure what your going to win with those groups... haha

Some butt hurt folks in here, nice shooting op. I always thought the MH big price tag had more too do with being a brand new design from a comparatively small company needing too cover r&d, tooling, manuf. etc and less to do with being a "Ferrari". Also being one of only a handful of 308 NON restricted semis, let alone the closest looking thing to an ar demands a premium.

for the record i didn't ask anyone if they personally liked norinco or thought it was a good idea. i asked if anyone had tried the cartridge in their modern hunter. thanks.

we know what you asked and it was a stupid question seeing how no one does it that should tell ya right there weather its worth doing or not

edit seen your groups

you need 5 shots to form a proper group

keep shooting and come back with a proper group for us to see
