Anyone try the Burris Fullfield E1 Balistic Plex with 5.56 / .223?

I was at crappy tire the other day to buy some Blazer and was surprised to see that they have expanded their little hunting section, they now carry of all things Leopold VXRs and Burris scopes.

I checked out the 2-7 Burris Fulfield E1 and really like the reticle (Balistic Plex). They don't have specific scopes with the reticle calibrated to specific ammunition, it's a one-size fits all type thing. Has anyone tried with reticle with 5.56 55gr ammo? Just wondering is its a close-ish match to the 100-200-300 meter markings on the reticle and if the suggestions for wind dope are anywhere close

I have the Burris Fulfield II (no windage on this model but still has the balistic plex reticle) this is mounted on my Savage Model 10 predator and I use an app on my phone called Strelok, just punch in info and it will get you pretty close to where you should be at each hashmark on the reticle. Works very well and I can't see why it wouldn't work on a. 223. The glass on this scope is nice and clear with no glare. Hope this helps.

I do most of my shooting with precision rifles with nice glass and reloads, iSnipe works very well for knowing what elevation / wind to dial in. I wanted something that would be quicker for hunting / plinking. I like particular scope because the reticle is very thin, the MTacs and AR332s etc. I find all have rather wide hash-marks.

I have used the ballistic plex on other various Burris optics and I really like it.

Makes snap shooting at known/ semi known ranges a real breeze.

It is ammo dependant, but they have always been very, very close for me out to the furthest I have shot my Swiss Arms, which is approx 550 meters.

Perfect! That's the kind of post I was looking for. Wouldnt want the reticle to be useless with .223 / 5.56. Thanks!

The reticle for the Fullfield II balistic plex is very good. It's designed to be very close for the most common calibers. They include a couple cards with charts that show the drop downs for the common cartridges and their corresponding hash mark. Just cut one of those out and put it in your scope cap. Easy reference.
