Anyone try the tic tac Muzzle brake?

Well dam it I broke down and bought one tonight I am not quite sure what to expect but I am a few hundred short in the pocket book LOL! a 308 never done me bad or wrong with out one but, has anyone tried one how effective are the Sako/Tikka brakes for these rifles will it take most of the jump out off the bipod

They're a bit on the large side, to say the least, but IMHO they are quite effective. I put one on my T3 Tactical in .223 (don't laugh!) and I can honestly say it makes quite a bit of difference. With my 4.5-14x Springfield Armory scope cranked up to max magnification, there is no discernable movement of the crosshairs when Mr. Gopher meets his maker...

Quiet, they're not. I've never used mine without hearing protection. Not sure how it would rate in decibels, but my braked .223 is considerably louder (as percieved by the shooter) than my non-braked .308. How much louder? Probably halfway between my .308 Win and my .257 Weatherby.
