Anyone try to widen out the rear sight with a dremel

MOJO makes a quick rear peep sight for the SKS... an alternative to the dremel. I would use a triangular file myself to prevent cutting one side more than the other which would lead to having to drift the front sight over... dremel is just too fast for that kind of work.

I would go with a file too, anything like a dremel that can fix stuff fast can also wreck it just as fast if you are not careful.

Princess Auto sells diamond coated mini file set for just a few bucks.
Great for all gunny projects. I own it and recommend it.

Or you could just learn to use the sight the way it is...If Ivan thought they needed V notches, then Ivan would have carved them in. :D

Or ......use magnifying glass just in front of the rear sight , or...... don't use the sights at all , they are useless on SKS anyway , the bullets go wherever they want ...........just keep pulling the trigger.

One of mine:

I did a bit of filing on this one with a small triangular V file, I liked the sight picture and will eventually do something similar to my other two, not sure if I will go the V notch or just widen the square one.
