I tryed a post in Reloading but them guys must think i was talking about a cowboy or something

Anyone here buy the stuff and give the new low presure Trail Boss Gunpowder a go in there Antique Pistols Revolvers ect ? :)

Just regular smokeless and Triple 7 in my Russian. The Triple 7 is stated to give 15% more velocity than BP when used in equal amounts. Not sure what the pressure curve would be like however.

I just found out my local guy can get the IMR Trail Boss powder in for me :dancingbanana:

So this is good for my 45 long colt loads :dancingbanana:

I think we should all chip in a give Dingus a Research and Development grant!

We look forward to hearing the results

I have tried a few different trailboss loads in my .45 Colt with bullets ranging in weight from 200gr up to 270 gr and the results have been absolutely fantastic. The best combination was with a 230 gr RN but I can't recall the charge, the results where 10 rounds @ 20 metres creating a 3/4" ragged hole with my 5.5" ruger blackhawk. I have yet to chrono that load. Every load I have tried with trailboss has exceeded previous accuracy results when compared with my previous loads using Unique, Bullseye and Titegroup - there's no looking back.

i am hoping to try it in the 43 mauser. just need to find some brass and a shell holder.

I tried it in a 32/40 with 205gr. lead bullet.....vel.very low, around 1100fps, press. actually quite high(26K)(according to Hogdon) accuracy quite good though, needs further work, watch the price of this stuff, some places charging $29.00 for a full size can, but it only has 9 ounces! A can should last awhile though. I think the end result in alot of rifle cal. will be not enough vel. /too high press. It certainly fills the case well with low charge weights, jury is still out on this powder in rifle cals. Its a natural in the .45 Colt.
