Anyone use a 1-6/8.5/etc scope on a rimfire?

I recently picked up a Bushnell SMRS 1-8.5. I think it’ll make a great hunting scope (lots of thick woods here so it’s rare you take a shot at more than 50m) and I really like the magnification range. Hopefully it’s not too dark in low light.

Has anyone used one on a .22lr as well? I’m wondering if it can do double duty for some grouse hunting. 1x with the dot illuminated could make for a great plinker but I am worried about parallax.

Thoughts?

If you mount your scope little more fwd, you can centre your eye more accurately. Also, when you are ready to take your shot, close your eyes, take a few breath, relax your neck and sholders
If your eye is still centered in your scope, your setup is right. If not, you need to adjust your rifle to your physionomy

Dero is right on about keeping eye centered. A good cheek weld will also help. Although parallax error will be there, at lower power magnification and shorter distances the error will be almost imperceptible or insignificant in an hunting scenario unless you need to repeatedly shoot the eyeballs out of the grouse at 50 meters:). I am going to do something similar with a Schmidt+ Bender 1-4 x 20 on top of my CZ455.

physionomy? It's not a word I use so I googled it...
