What's your experience with this magazine? How did it fit and function in your rifle?(This is the 5 rnd model not the 5/20,BTW)
What make did you try it in:Russian, Chinese or Yugo SKS ?

Yes but the zytel ones also allow you to use the stripper clip's also but they don't sit flush to the bottom of the russian stocks.

I have two of the Tapco 5 round magazines. They do not work well in my Russian SKS's. They fit good without modification but what they do is they will not chamber the last round. It goes in the stove pipe position. Other people have tried my magazines and they worked great in their Russian SKS as well as other variants. I have one for sale if anybody is interested.

My Russian rifle stove-pipes with this magazine too on the last shot everytime. Tapco says it's an SKS tolerance issue, but the follower in this model of their mag, moves around all over the place. The follower tilts way too easy, especially when the bolt catch device puts pressure on the rear before the last round is chambered. The last round is placed at any angle so extreme it completely misses the chamber and jams between the bolt/carrier and the chamber. Tapco says that most people find this mag works for them ok. So, does anyone know why the Russian models are different here? More tension on the bolt catch spring than other makes maybe?

Ya I know it doesn't make sense how the zytel 5 rounder works fine and the tapco 5/20 rounder works fine but the tapco 5 rouder always ff on the last round.
Wierd!

The tapco 5 rounder & zytel are different makes? I always figured they're the same.
If I turn my SKS into a more PC looking backup deer rifle, I'll be trying out one of these magazines.

correction : i thought that was zytel 5rd mag which i had no problem with , cant speak for the tapco 5 rd mag.
