Anyone use the folder on their VZ-858?

Put my folder on, and never went back. Not so much the LCF, but it is actually more practical to me. My folder has a slight cant to it, so it actually brings the receiver and barrel further from my shoulder, closer to my eyes. I find it easier to fire in quick succession this way. The LOP does seem a little less, but that seems to allow for a more smg like firing stance (shouldersfacing more forwards, stock pressed more into chest then shoulder, cheek elevated off stock with your melon floating above the line of sight). I guess what I am saying is, it depends on how you want to shoot it. I mean, it's not a tack driver, and scoping is likely not worth it. You really have to try both ways and decide for yourself. I have to many rifles I shoot like rifles. This is NOT one of them, and I like that.

I find it MORE comfortable to shoot with the folder. The folder allows for a quicker sight picture. I found the stock was too high and I had to push down on my cheek to get the front sight. That hurt the cheek after a few hundred rounds. The folder doesn't require such a hold and therefore does not hurt my cheek what-so-ever. And with the bonus of being more compact and more comfortable to sling, I will not be going back.

I bought my VZ58 second hand, and it came with the folder installed. I've never bothered to take it off and use the full stock (also included). I wouldn't have bought the rifle if a folding stock was not available, 'cause I was looking for something ultra-compact to piss off Liberals. I don't find that it hurts my cheek at all, but I have to deliberately lean my head back a little bit, or the bolt carrier cover bonks me in the nose. Not so much as to be painful, but annoying. Now that I've learned how to hold my head, it doesn't happen, and I find the folder quite comfortable.

i used to have a fixed stock but it hurt my face too much. i bought a folder. it was alot better but alittle uncomforable. the stock kinda hurt and the base dug into my shoulder. then SGT BuBBa fixed that for me. $2 of some pipe insulation from rona, and voila!

I lengthened mine and swept it down a little bit. It comes up in line of sight better for me. And yes I know I need a better camera

I bought one on the idea that if I dont buy one now, I'll never find one again. (That always happens to me)

Havent used it yet...but then I havent used my 858 yet either.

I'd recommend getting one, assuming the price is right, just so you have the accessory/option to use it.

Just get an AR-15 collapsible stock and an adapter for the 858. Search around a bit on the net .. there are a few options. All depends on what you want.

:D

Better than the stock it comes with and the cheap folder dude .. as I said, to each his own. If you don't like the idea .. don't put one on.

I find nothing wrong with the original stock. Tough, solid and looks like a good face bashing could be had with it.

The folder is milspec and tough and sturdy as nails as well.

the m4 stock for this thing bubbas this thing beyond acceptable terms and it just LOOKS FUGLY.

These "Ak" style guns should only be done so much. The lines, styling and wood only add to the character and class of its type in my opinion.

If i may steal a pic from someone on this site....
