Just wondering how it lines up over the action? Is it centered or does it sit off to the left side?

I had one of those units for a while. It worked very well. Rock solid.

But it does sit off to the side of the rifle. There are obvious pros and cons.

So did I ;). I have yet to find a western one that has the same features for under $600....solid sight. You can get ones that are made for a picatinny mount but they mount vey high....

Its just another red dot IMHO. Question about those belarus scopes - will range finding reticle work well for deer? Anybody uses range finding feature at all? How does it work?

Range finder is set for a SVD so it would work pretty good on a mosin and probably be ok for a rifle chambered in .308win.

A range finder in the scope worked well enough to issue it to Russian troops.
Methinks the 400 yard ones sold by Kalinka optics would work well with the SKS.

Is it safe to assume that all the side mount optics are no good for a lefty? I guess that leaves me with a scout mount as my only option. I wonder how many people have done the little hack job to be able to field strip without pulling the optics off the top?

No some line up over the action. There are some however that seem to sit on the right side of the rifle.
