Hey all,

Slowly building up a Rem700P in .308.

Looking to add a detachable magazine. I've always known about the Badger Ordanance (but heard it is hard to install) and the H-S Precision (easy to install but not as robust as the BO).

But I read on another site about a canadian company that makes and installs such a system, and low and behold they are a sponsor on the board - VBull.

So I ask, has anyone used their DM Conversion? Thoughts?

The VBull set-up is simply excellent BUT it must be properly fitted into the rifle. I was at the range yesterday and had problems - while 9 rounds feed perfectly, the bolt skims over the last round in the magazine catching it half-way up the casing thus not chambering it properly. The problem as far as I can tell is that the bottom metal isn't set deep enough into the rifle in the rear.

I was on the phone with Ed last night and he confirms its simple enough to fix. So ensure that when your gunsmith installs it (BTW Ed did not do this install) that he undertakes the critical 1 round feed test. Mine is now going back to the gunsmith for adjustment...

The short of it is that I give Ed's bottom-metal a 110% endorsement for design, quality and ergonomics. I would suggest that if your gunsmith has any doubts about the install they should call Ed directly.

Here are pics of my rifle (XCR tactical longrange) from yesterday's range session and some 100M results (5 rounds, 170GR Lapua Lockbase match rounds). I would post an excellent 300M target result but it literally melted in the torrential rainstorm we had in Southern Ontario yesterday.

Nice looking rifle and nice shooting there Lorax! What kind of telescopic sight are you using, the scope turrets are also interesting too... what sight have you got there?
