I'm thinking of using Herco powder for 9mm. I've only used Blue dot and Power pistol Alliant powders, how does Herco compares to the two?

Is it clean burning? consistent charge?

I bought a few pounds on sale a few years ago. When reloading .45ACP I was surprized by the rather high velocities I was achieving (900FPS plus). If you have a supply of it, it's not a bad powder. As I recal, the flash was nothing big. Herco burns a bit cooler then other powders but not as clean as others. Good load density, but it's a flake powder, so it may not measure well in a Lee dispenser. I've not had any problems with my RCBS dispenser.

hmm...I've had problems with blue dot; with an Auto Disk instead of 8gr I was supposed to get I was getting 7.5 at most  I remember Power pistol was right on the money (don't remember if it's a flake powder)...

anyone tried Herco in Lee Auto disk?

I use unquie and titegroup with auto disks and they are both short of the specified amounts by about .3-4 grs However the MV seems to be quite close to the book and the gun works fine, so I am not worried.
