Got some to give a try in my Nemesis, is there some proven good recipe out there for LR shooting, the BC. of .648 is incredible... JP.

RL17 is the powder to get ahold of. Guys on snipershide are claiming to lob them up to 2600 fps with that. I've tried them out of a Savage 10FP with adequate success with both RL15 and RL17. I don't have my load notes handy, but I used the info on SH as a starting point and it worked well.

You can get them going over 2600 fps. easily with RL-17, but I find that they shoot the most accurately in the 2560-2580 fps. range.

This was from a 11.25" twist barrel, btw.

I've run them for a couple of years off and on, both in my 06 and FLP10, but never got too serious with the .308 till recently. I agree with Kombayotch, although I was going up to 44+ grains of R15. But I'd start a little lower and look for the nodes.

I tried them with both RE17 (too temperature sensitive for my liking) and H4350 in my match rifle. Found them not to be as accurate as the Berger VLD's. If you want a good BC try the new Berger 215 Hybrid for a BC of .696!!! Steve

The hornady208's are a great bullet, but I suspect the advertised B.C. Is a little off.
My Berger 210VLDs drop noticably less at 1500yds, and are 20fps- ish slower on average the the hornady 208's.

I have not yet measured the difference, but its just noticable.
