anyone using the Timney 870 "trigger fix" ?

for anyone who's interested in this product ...
Remington SG's seem to be regarded as having one of the better SG triggers but you know us white guys ... always trying to make things "better" ...LOL
Picked one up and installed it on a Tac-Ord 870P I've had for many years.
This 870P was a dept. gun and I don't know for sure but if memory serves I recall Casey telling me they had swapped out the sear springs for a very heavy "lawyer spring". Suspect my memory is recalling correctly because the spring in there is A LOT heavier than the Timney heavy spring.
Installation was easy and I opted for the medium gauge spring.
Out of curiosity I did a highly scientific finger squeeze test of the 3 Timney springs as well as the original. Wow, that original is heavy ! And wow.... that Timney light is really light. I guess the only real reason to use the light guy would be competition ?
Don't have a trigger pull weight thingy but the difference is unreal.
The medium feels good. Doesn't feel too light for a field gun, but I really can't imagine going any lighter on this.
Not only is the pull noticeably lighter but the difference in smoothness is worth the price of this option imo.
Even though Casey did his usual fantastic work on this SG, with the sear spring in there being so darn heavy I think no matter how well you polish the trigger it's gonna feel like it has a bit of drag. All that "drag" is gone. The difference in smoothness is impressive.
Have yet to mess with the Timney pull weight adjustment and probably won't fine tune that unless I feel the need.
I'm definitely going to pick up another for my other Tac-Ord 870P and one for a DA Grizz 12 ga.. Will also have to inquire if the same part will fit into a DA Grizz 20 gauge.

I'm still running a stock Police trigger with the orange sear spring, and the pull feels just as heavy as that of a double action revolver.
Simply swapping that bear trap strength spring out for a lighter one, either the 3 lb competition or 5 lb standard model, would make a huge difference for about $8.
However it's not really a priority for me, and if I need a lighter trigger I'll just reach for a different shotgun.
