Hey everyone! I've been doing some research online about using fast pistol powders In light subsonic loads but the data is unpublished or incomplete such as without case OAL. Hs6 and titegroup don't seem sensitive to case volume like h110 since there is published data for 308 subsonic with around 8 to 10gr titegroup. Also these powders work well in .357 and 38spl which has similar case volume to 300 blackout. I'm curious if anyone has experience with these powders that can give me a reference point or somewhere to start. I'm using a bolt action ranch rifle with a 16"barrel it's bolt action so no need to cycle an action.
I have a variety of bullets ranging from 110 to 165g available. A popular choice for 150gr fmj was 4.4gr titegroup but no oal. Thanks everyone!

I have a subsonic load using trailboss and a 150gr fmj but I've never tried using titegroup or HS6. I wouldn't worry too much about OAL, it isn't going to make that much difference in pressure that you'll risk getting into a dangerous situation unless you push it way in there. I would just load to whatever OAL the bullet manufacturer suggests or whatever length you load those bullets to in your other loads and drop 5-10% off the powder charge to start with. Be sure to check that the bullet actually left the barrel before trying the next one though.

Hopefully Suputin sees this thread soon, he's my 300BLK resource center. He's built me barrels and helped me with load recepies over the last couple years and he's always given good advice.

Good luck, be sure to let us know how the testing goes. I've got a bolt action 300BLK as well and lots of titegroup.

I haven't tried titegroup in 300 blk but I have used 3gr with a 55 fmj in a 223, 5 gr with 160 gr cast and jacketed in a 30-30 and 8gr with 150 gr fmj in a 308 and 06. I found these recipes on cast boolits forum but were listed with bullseye powder. Bullseye is alongside titegroup on the burn rate chart so I did a substitute. Speed wise I don't know if they were subsonic but they sound like they were lol. Was looking for light loads for the kids. I have found that trail boss or unique make for a more accurate plinker load than titegroup does as well as cleaner.

COAL is the most entirely USELESS piece of information ever concocted for reloading. Forget it even exists.

For 300 BLK you will need to thread the needle between getting as close to the lands as possible (not less than .010") and keeping the rounds under Mag length or having them seated far enough into the case neck. It all depends on the bullet weight and shape.

I've been using either 6.0gr or 6.5gr Trailboss with a 150gr FMJ bullet. That works pretty well.

Another fun load is 4.5gr Trailboss with a 110gr SJ carbine bullet.

Apparently it is bad to compress Trailboss so I really haven't tried to do that.

Most of the published BLK data will be for ARs, and so need to cycle an SA action. I haven't found a lot for bolt guns. Realistically you could use any fast pistol powder and it would work. Something like Red Dot or N320 will work. I have used HS6 but I'd have to go look at my data before posting here.
