Anyone wanna save a C/A M1928A1 thompson?

I just got back from Gunco in Ottawa. There's a C/A M1928A1 converted auto there in mint (and I do mean MINT) condition that's about to become a dewat unless someone buys it within the next few days. It's an Auto Ordnance made WW2 gun with US inspection marks AND commonwealth proofs, so it was likely a lend-leace gun, possibly Canadian service. Great wood, perfect metal, the whole bit. I want it SO BAD but am not grandfathered appropriately.

Aparently the owner is getting out of guns but will sell it live, or he'll dewat it. If anyone wants to save it, call Jason at Gunco in Ottawa. I have nothing to do with the sale, except to comment it would be a shame to see it welded up.

I *think* the seller wants $1500, but I'm not certain. Definitely worth a call if you want a nice C/A thompson.

Nice save. Maybe us Gunnutz should start a sort of "Gun-saver" charity were we save guns from the chopping block or various amnesties's by giving them a home.

When I read the first post I felt bile rising in my throat from fear and disgust.
I despair about what will happen when all the grandfathereds are to old to save pieces like this.

cool pic. well, ill be watching for extras for mine now. id really like to pic up a drum, but..thats wishing for xmass early. need a sling.and a magpouch.and .and .and
