Anyone who owns a VZ 58 had issues with the non chrome lined barrels?

I am able to get a new vz 58 with no chrome for cheaper, wondering it it is worth it not to get the chrome, I plan to shoot non corrosive norinco of dominion steel cased ammo, I shoot around 800-1000 rounds a month of 7.62 right now. I understand the difference so no one have to tell me chrome will last longer and have corrosion resistance but would like to hear personal use with the non chrome VZ 58. I have a habit to clean all my guns after a range day, its just how i am, Corrosive or not, even for 20 rounds. I figure taking care of it wont be an issue. I believe most hunting rifles and my mossberg are non chrome and they seem to fair well for me, Even my mosin is fine. Any big issues with the barrels?

Non chrome is not an issue. Even when shooting corrosive. Just clean it after shooting and you'll be fine.
Lots of pristine barreled milsurps out there that shoot only corrosive ammo in non-chrome barrels - just a good cleaning is needed.

With proper cleaning - NO problem.

I had one batch of corrosive ammo that was more potent than others - even after my standard cleaning process that worked fine with other forms of corrosive ammunition I had some pretty bad surface corrosion within 5x days. This surface corrosion was eliminated with a thorough cleaning and some FMJ rounds down the pipe to re-polish the barrel. Long story short - the barrel ended up as good as new and I became a little more aggressive (water in addition to standard cleaning products) and I haven't had a problem since.

There are also several barrel 'bore conditioning' compounds on the market - these can also be used to resolve or reduce barrel corrosion problems.

No problem with non chromed barrels. There is someone on the forum here with tens of thousands of rounds through a non chromed bore with no problems and no real accuracy loss either. Chrome makes it easier for cleaning, but should not be a deal breaker.

was around 3k on round in my cz858 and never got trouble , 7.62x39mm is a slow round around 2300fps so your not going to wear out that barrel fast , i really doubt you can hsoot out the barrel in your life
