Anyone with a G17 gen 4 mind taking measurements for me?

I purchased one pending transfer.
I have owned that model in the past and loved it, but hated the sights.
With the factory 6.5mm rear, it used to shoot 147gr too high, and i had to lower rear

Right now i want to order a metal set before gun gets here.
If you have a factory 6.5mm rear :

What is your distance from slide top to rear sight top?
What is your distance from slide top to front sight top?

I'll try to measure mine after work but I only have a regular ruler, not a caliper!
 
Alright, if possible to get as precise as possible.
Use mm at worst and i will convert

I have a feeling the rear will be higher than the front.
Currently looking at some dawson precision, but rear is higher than front

Edit : Just got a private message, gen 3 with factory 6.5mm sight

Front = 167 thou
Rear = 176 thou

Are you shooting POA/POI at the moment?
How many grains are your projectiles?

With your factory setup, your rear is about 35 thou higher than front
In the past, when i had a g17, i installed the 6.1mm to be poa/poi, which is 15 thou lower than 6.5mm

I need my rear sight to be 20 thou higher than front in this case
Sight i am shopping for, is exactly 20 thou higher rear than front, i'll go for it and hope for the best

I wouldn't plan for anything until you put some lead down range.

P.S. Most people would just get a taller front post (e.g. .245).

I might wait for dawson precision adjustable (vs fixed in stock) to restock and be sure then.

Can't shoot pistol yet, but soon will get back at it. Been out of it 2 months with a broken arm

With your mepro you are still at a 28thou difference (vs 35ish)

I think it wouldn't be enough to drop down 147s

I haven't owned or shot 9mm for a while (been shooting 40 these past years)
It's frustrating how my factory set up 9mms ive owned we're all sighted in for 124gr
This is G17, 92FS, SP01 shadow
 
Ok, decided i will go with the Dawson precision adjustable.
They are higher than standard sights, but it's my sure way to get a nice sight picture, and not worry about POA POI
