Come fall I'll be looking for a .223 for coyote / varmint hunting. I've owned plenty of heavy barrel .223s with Tikkas being my favorite but this time round I'm looking for less weight but similar accuracy.

I've owned a GSR in .308 and liked it but sold it for a Tikka. I'm considering a GSR again because I like that I comes with good iron sights and I like that it has a 1/8 twist barrel. BUT ... is it accurate?

I don 't know how well a 5.56 Gunsite Scout might shoot, but I bet it shoots tighter than you can hold with irons. After my full stock CZ 527, a .223 put a 3 Speer 50 gr TNTs into a single hole at 200 yards, I've stopped worrying whether or not a factory barrel can be accurate. Chances are with a good handload it will exceed your expectations or at least your requirements, but if you're looking for a fur friendly load, and AE ball proves uninspiring, Lapua S538 55 gr FMJs might be a good place to look.
