I just double checked the prices are at the end of every description of a particular model described.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what the prices are like in Canada but I remember reading reviews on French from france forums sometime ago. Let me see if I can find some links for you. Before I do that how is your french??

The Rustic 12 gauge 70 cm brand new is worth 935 euros plus taxes of courses according to the website. They called them Fusils juxtaposes JET Rustic.

I will try to dig up that French forum for you you may be able to get more help that way.

I do not know if you have seen verny caron shotguns but from the ones I have seen Verny Caron have a well refined finish and fit that surpasses anything out there. They are more of an art piece than shotguns.

 Sorry to disapoint you, but Verney Caron is more of a machine shop now than a firearm manufacturer. The engravings are machine rolled. They used to have an agent in Canada, a few years back. If you check their website, you will see what they are into now. I visited St. Étienne last year. It used to be the cream of French gunmaking. It is no longer so. :( MAS is no longer there as well as most of the other French gunmakers). It is no longer a fast moving city. The whole area has fallen on hard times! The biggest French gunmaker is Chapuis. They are located about 45 minutes west of St.Étienne. They are presently the World's biggest manufacturer of African game guns! They also make some of the fanciest and strong SxS and O/U. They have 120 employees and use the latest cnc machinery. The plant is spotless. They have their own proof house and 3 underground ranges up to 100M. René Chapuis personaly buys ALL the wood. It is stored in a climate controled 3,000 sq M warehouse. visit their website for more info.

As for that VC, it is not worth more than a few hundred CDN $.

Best regard,
Henry;)

I did not know that. All the Verny Carron pieces that are owned by family members I do not feel comfortable shooting because they look like pieces of art made to be admired and not to be taken to the range or hunting. I am so sorry to hear that they are not producing the same quality anymore.

verney carron

This one is an estate sale and has been in the collection for years and looks amazing the age of it I'm not sure but.......... I think I'll take it as it's a fair price and I'll let you know. Thanks for the input guys.

Verney-Carron

I remember when I was a child, François Maisongrosse, the village's butcher, had a very fine 16 gauge double he used for everything from "palombe" pass shooting (a kind of wild pigeon) to wild boar at close range with slugs and "chevrotine" (buckshot).
It was a standard grade shotgun but its fit and finish were beautiful.
I guess that if your shotgun is an older one, it is one of those fine firearms.
Condition and appearance is everything, as they say.
But you can be assured that the older Verney-Carron were once one of the finest french shotgun manufacturers.

Yukoner,

first find out which grade of V-C we're actually talking about ie. boxlock, sideplated or side lock, ejectors or extractors.

overall French shotguns are undervalued here in Canada but even more so in the States. earlier - pre war guns should be of a high standard so there is the possibility of you making out like a snake in the bush here if the over all quality of the piece is good.

my background ? I was once the foolish owner of a V-C 16 bore Helicobloc.
