Anyone with QuickLoad - can you run something for me real quick?

Can you just give me a quick ballpark on what the pressure would be for the following:

7.62x39 case
220 grain bullet (Hornady RN's, if that matters)

24-ish grains of Varget
or
24-ish grains of H322

I know velocity is going to be very low, just trying to determine two things:

1. Don't wanna blow up me or my gun
2. If the pressure would be high enough to likely cycle a Mini-30 action.

Thanks.

Thank you VERY much! I greatly appreciate it!

And I see, my suspicions were correct - Varget probably is just about right for fooling around with heavy bullets in my Mini-30. Cool.

I'll post range reports here one of these days once I actually get this little experiment done (probably after Christmas, unless I wind up with some extra free time in the meantime during daylight hours).

Thanks again!

Interesting stuff - a larger 300 Whisper.

For use in a Mini-30 you'll have to consider loaded OAL. You'll have that 220gr bullet seated way out with a load of 24 grs of anything.

Yeah, the mini will let me seat them quite long, actually - I seat the 150 grain Hornady's at 2.26-ish and it'll still feed just fine, so that gives me a touch more breathing room. I'll be starting lower than 24 grains anyway - if it doesn't fit as I work up, that'll just have to be what it is. This is all probably just a dumb experiment anyway, but I enjoy doing dumb experiments, so it should be fun. :)

I have a surplus of 220 grain Hornady's, and I noted that the 1:10 twist of the Mini should stabilize them, and..... it kind of snowballed from there.
