Anything Wrong With Shooting Long Range?

Shooting at longer ranges is how you really start to learn how to shoot/load/gunsmith/etc! And yes it is highly addictive because there is no end of stuff to learn.

As someone who is interested but has never gotten involved with the the ORA and long range rifle shooting.

The problem is twofold. 1) I shoot enough to know that I need to practice lots to be good at it, and not having many available ranges to do this at means its a bit of a hassle.
2) I'm pretty busy being involved in about a hundred other things and having one open house or one public day a year means that I never hear about them until its too late for me to schedule it in. This being busy thing ties in with the ranges available, if they're few and far and limited access then its likely that I'm never going to get the time to practice so what's the point?

Meantime I'm shooting 22's at 100 or 200 yards since I can do that anytime at the clubs where I shoot now.

I like power line or quarter section hunting, its a fun time with good optics, ie binos to watch all the critters that come out. A plus if a good buck walks out, and you have the rig, and know how to get it on the ground.
