Does anyone know where I can find a Sig p226 Classic .22? I've checked everywhere and every site I see is out of stock, with no estimated date of stock returning (Aside from Questar which says 12-24 weeks). I've had one backordered from Cabela's since early August, and they've told me they have no clue when they are getting more. My trigger finger is getting mighty itchy.....

I ordered from Questar and was told 12-24 weeks, got it in 8 weeks. Best price is at Cabela's for this pistol. I would wait if this is the one you want.

got mine on the EE a while back. paid about $360 too, but that was a steal

You got a full sized Sig Sauer P226 for only $360? I'm sorry but I can't fully believe that. You might have gotten a Sig Mosquito for that.... :D

But if you did get a full sized P226 for that then you got one HELL of a deal...

The p226 classic is a .22

In fact I got the p226 classic and 9mm exchange kit for 750, like I said a steal

the guy I bought it from got out of the sig platform and moved to CZ for ipsc.

the no last round hold open is annoying but not a huge deal:

It's simple as changing the magazine followers to a different type. :D

From what I read about the new followers some time ago is that they will leave the slide open on last shot but not actually engage the slide lock/release mechanism.

This is why I have held off getting them. But this is 2nd hand knowledge

In stock. Google "Kelly's Sporting Goods". Never shopped there before so I don't know anything about them. $609 Classic 226 in .22 with one mag. Check it out if you are interested. Another CGN'r has told me they offer a cash discount, again I can't confirm. Questar is cheaper at $574 but has no stock.

Good luck in your quest.

You are absolutely correct on this. I have the followers installed on my mags. However they do come in pretty handy. They keep you from dry firing on empty, which will cause peening at the top of the chamber area.

Ended up getting one from a fellow CGN'r for $500 shipped, with an extra mag and upgraded steel guide rod. Good deal if you ask me. Now I just need to track down a cheap source for the 9mm conversion kit.
