I was over on RDSC.ca and saw an APC9 NR variant with 18.8" barrel. It kind of looks like maybe it's the newer gen APC9 with non reciprocating charging handles but MAYBE the regular lower that doesn't take glock mags. Obviously I hate money to even be considering this thing. Is anyone familiar with what this is? And is there any way around the 5rd limit here i.e., like a normal pistol mag?

edit: This looks like it, but there's no specs

It would have to be the PRO to accept the Glock lower.
Most likely someone had a custom barrel made for it and classified it to be NR?
Unless you are stating it is completely brand new?

I already have the regular APC9, but if I was in the market for something like that in this price range I would prob get the APC223 or APC308.

The only advantage of Glock lower is cheap mags and 10 rounds. Ergonomics is better with B&T lower - that's how it was originally engineered.

Although genuine glock mag is only about 10 bucks cheaper than B&T if that matters. Hopefully KCI or someone will look into it.

I'm wondering if they would import B&T pistol version without stock, will they pin B&T mags for 10 rounds or it still considered a rifle? Would be nice to have LAR type of thing for B&T, then forget about glock lowers.

From what I can gather, the APC9 is an insanely reliable firearm whereas I see a surprising number of gripes related to the APC223 across the interwebs. Maybe this is an effect of the rifles being high profile and expensive and just subject to additional debate?

Any thoughts on that? Because I am basically with you on this. I love the look of the APC9 and the legendary reliability. But for the price the APC223 is the more attractive overall package.

I can vouch for the APC9 reliability. I do not have any comment about APC223 or 308 tho since I have not had the privilege of owning one. I saw random complaints here and there but so far I have not seen enough to discourage me from buying 223 or 308 one day.

Going by reliable reviews, B&T APC9 is the Rolex of pistol carbines and a genuine marvel. Your opportunity to own and experience the pleasure of ownership is here; for how long who knows.

RDSC has a great selection, the apc9 18.8” are built for cdn market but they are not the newer gen pro uppers. They do have some of the non-reciprocating in stock but it’s the “K” model with the 4.33” barrel. (Also happens to be the us army newest contracted sub gun) I bought two so far the 7” which does not have the pro upper and the K model 4.33” barrel. I’ve been considering the non res model but the Pinocchio barrel kills me and at that price point the apc223 18.8 is the better buy if and when they aren’t sold out. As for the glock mags I hear they work well most of the time but the b&t mag lowers are far more reliable. What ever you choose you can’t go wrong. The ghm9 is also a consideration if looking for a restricted sub as they take glock maga.
