So I picked up one of the new AEK triggers from Apex Tactical - essentially the trigger from the FSS trigger kit - and installed it tonight. Took me about 15 minutes and there were no issues whatsoever, decreased the take-up by about 50% or so and made both the actual trigger pull and reset much crisper, especially the reset.

The trigger pull seemed to be just as heavy (about 5# +/-) but much cleaner, and the reset was very, VERY noticeably crisper.

From my POV - one of the best trigger-related mods that you can make to the M&P. Sorry, no pics...

You ordered directly from Apex and they shipped it to Canada? What was the shipping charge?

Last time I was in contact with Apex, I was told the issue with direct shipping of their products outside the US was that they would have to register as the manufacturer/exporter ($$$) which they've done and then register as the retailer/exporter (more $$$). It's easier for them to stick to what they do best, register as a manufacturer and let Brownell's and Dillon deal with the retailer licensing. It also keeps the costs lower for the purchaser.

Apex doesn't ship to Canada, period. Export permits are to expensive for a small company. To the OP get the USB from Apex and you will get a much smoother and somewhat lighter trigger pull.

So I just finished up installing a set of Ameriglo "Hack" sights and I'm extremely pleased with the increased visibility of the FS. The rear sight is noticeably wider than the 10-8 rear i had on before, enough so that it make picking up the FS with my right eye very easy and quick ( giant retinal tear in Dec '09 and 6 surgeries on the eye since then).

We have a match at the club tomorrow = we'll see how it goes...

OK, this Ameriglo FS is a massive winner - it's like having an orange golf ball in front of your eyes that you just lay on the target and break the shot. Speaking of which, the AEK trigger is highly recommended for the M&P!!! Lots of folks go on about the lack of perceivable reset but I don't really care as I don't shoot off of the reset. Having said that, in comparing it to a stock M&P40 trigger, it is definitely more noticeable on the AEK than on the stock unit - far shorter take-up and a really crisp break with very little over-travel make this a winner also.

There are those who will say "just learn to shoot the trigger that comes as stock" - I can already do that and I can get good hits. This one allows me to do it faster and more accurately. The development and refinement of combat pistols did NOT end with the Austrian Tupperware, and I do think that the M&P platform has the potential to do as well or better than the Glock.

Flame suit on...

Installed mine and am happy with the feel. I won't be able to range test it until next weekend but dry fire feels like a huge improvement! The only thing I didn't notice was a huge increase in the feel of the reset. It is certainly better but not huge.
I expect that when my comp AEK arrives and I manage to install it as well, that I should have one really sweet trigger!

Hope i'm not being rude but what did all the parts cost to sort out your trigger?

Not sure exactly what it would have been alone seeing as how it would fit in a bubble mailer. I ordered some cleaning solvent with it as well.
Trigger - $74.95
Solvent - $17.98
PP air - $23.25
Total $116.18
Hope that helps you.
