Your guna love this one CGN so sit back an strap yaselfs in.
I... Lost my Rear Sight Blade and Screw for my Ruger #1.... such an elegant little rifle.eh.
but its a 303.... 315 british or whatever ya wanna call it........
Frusteration had set in a few yr ago with this gun, internet helped both raise frusteration but also cool the heat- the Ruger 1 303 is what it is.
i put a scope on it but i would need a 4bo rear ring to make it look any good... an it didnt feel right with a scope anyway- 2-7x28.
i left it in safe bare forever, then had a bright moment to re scope it an shoot it.... 3-9x40.
did all that an took off the front post and rear sights, folded them down.... put in safe place for safe keeping...
12 months later an my cycle repeats, coming into bow hunting time for me, but frusteration trying to stalk deer with a Bow an farmers getting a bit uneasy on You telling them, Yeah i see those deer ya talkin about - i got to within 40m but i had me bow, couldnt get a shot....
say what?
so i just have to shoot em, an shootin em with a 30-06 scoped up slayer , is 'boring' but there is time for it...
lever gun is awesome... but i end up takin out 4 of them just slammin the lever......
enter the single shot realm.
1 oppertunity, 1 shot dont waste my time.
Ive got 180gr Hot Cors on the Go , rifle likes em, 2208/varget combo 42gr ready to go.
but my rear sight was .... Gone.
Enter the taxidermy toolbox.
as it set i went an shot the thing to line em up.........
i also painted it to match the 'blueing'
very traditional lol
this is where it ended up for a 60m zero , to use for under 100
now its dodgy, ugly, uncool, all of the above.... but hey..... its goin to be wacken deers soon and il hopefully have a video to show yas the journey of the apoxie clay sights
lighting doesnt help my paint job- if it stays on for a good while il re do it one day
hooroo
disclaimer- dont try this at home an if done so do at own risk
