or so they say.... some will remember a lesson i learnt recently with an old stag with small handle bar antlers..... i face shot him, lost him an found him...
well, ironically. this morning, dirivng up the same track , i spy two big brown ghosts hovering along the fence line on crack of dawn......
out with the bino, confirmation, scramble, get a gun some ammo an bag head off up the track close the gap.
in an exact scenerio as the Old stag, only 50m from where i eventually killed him, Stood this other big body bugger.... feeding, unaware.?
subaru are quiet i guess...
anyway, about 250m , lay down, get it sorted an squeeze a 140gr Woodleigh down the pipe.......... smoke clears. Deers bucked an ducked into the bushline....
i kept hunting, as felt confident, found some fallow, but shot high at 370 odd..... warning for next time to stand a bit further out..... as were young spike bucks.
anyway went home an grabbed me Dog- cant legally hunt this breed of dog in Aus- an returned before sun rose too far..
we walked 20 into the bush an i find blood, another 30 i find Dog pretty happy about himself... an dead deer.
now not a sales advertisement but none the less on the far hide basically, behind a shoulder, through a shoulder i find this
quite interesting as ive never personally seen one do this... at close enough range with high enough velocity.... proof in the pudding tho (or my Jar i guess)
