I was wondering if someone who has already applied for both PAL and RPAL could clarify something for me. The application for the license is a little confusing to me.

"J - FEES
If you are applying for a Possession and Acquisition license
for the first time, the fees are based on the firearms you
currently possess and the firearms you intend to acquire and
possess.
The fee for a Possession and Acquisition License depends
on the class of firearm(s) you are applying to acquire and
already possess as indicated in Section A - LICENSE
INFORMATION. If you have indicated either restricted or
prohibited firearm(s) in Box 2, the fee is $80. Otherwise, the
fee is $60. The fee is non-refundable."

This may be a silly question, but It seems to me the form is a little vague.

Thanks for your help.

If you are applying for a new license you will need to pay $60 if you're applying for a PAL -OR- $80 if you're applying for a RPAL. Renewals are free for the time being.

Not sure how upgrades (PAL to RPAL) fit in though...

"...$80 if you're applying for a RPAL..." The $80 covers both the PAL and the RPAL. You can't get the RPAL without a PAL. No fee to renew.

I paid $60 to get my pal, and upgrades are free, so my RPAL isn't costing me anything. Just worked out that way.

awesome..

Thanks for the info guys. That part had me confused, but this helped.
:dancingbanana:

I hope this doesn't take too long. I heard it can take a while. Oh well.
