Hello all,

I searched for a thread for appraisals for value, but couldn't find one. So if my post against the rules please feel free to delete thread.

The following is my rifle, its a Czech VZ52/57, chambered in 7.62x39mm. This rifle is rebarreled and not rechambered. These pictures were taken before I lost the magazine for it. I lost it on a hunting trip, we had a mishap running the chutes on a river where I live. Flipped the canoe, and lost the mag in the process.

The only real problems with it, is the finish is worn, it is missing the cleaning kit and the butt cover to cover the kit. And there is two holes drilled in the stock on the buttstock and forestock for sling screws.

Just looking to see what these are worth these days.
 
Restoration project

In this actual state, presuming there is no corrosion to the gas system, that the bore and chamber are clean and devoid of pits and corrosion and that the stock hasn't been sanded to death but left alone instead, I would say no more than $300.00.
If there's corrosion, well...
Are there numbers and stamped marks on the stock, still?
Finding a new magazine can be a long quest and these can cost up to $75.00.
Butt plate covers are still available. Stock will have to be refinished once the sling anchor holes in the stock are properly doweled.

The number on the stock matches the receiver. And is easily readable on the stock. The finish has never been sanded, but instead has wear marks in the finish from handling. The metal parts are still in good condition and the barrel is still chromed.
 
Thanks for the info guys ... now I just have to decide whether I take the time to look for a replacement magazine or just sell it.

Re Magazine, do a WTB ad in the parts and bits. They come up once in a while.
