I have some Mk. II and Mk.VI ball. I have 10 rounds of the Mk.II and 13 rounds of Mk.V1. The Mk. II is from 1906, and 1907 I beleive. The Mk.VI is all from 1912. Heres some pics in case I'm wrong with my identification. Anybody know hoe much they're worth approximately?

Considering ball ammo goes for about $1 a round, I feel this is a little low ball. If you have any 303 that you's like to sell for such a low price, pm me :).

the old gallery stuff does sell at gunshows for less than 1$ a round, I bought some last year just for the casings. The Mk6 is usually not much more. Of course the maker can make a difference.

The top ones look like cast bullet reloads. Mk II ammo, adopted in 1893, used a 215 grain RN bullet. Those aren't 215 grains. Too short. Worth the price of the slightly corroded brass. Which isn't much.
Mk VII ammo was adopted in 1910. Your ammo isn't worth much either. Collectors want full unopened boxes.

"...Didn't know they reloaded that back then..." Might have had the FMJ's pulled and reloaded with cast for hunting. Friggin' stuff always refuses to talk.
Reloading has been around for a very long time. Just not as easy as it is now. 19th Century buffalo hide hunters, among others, reloaded. In the field. Usually bought lead by the bar and made their own bullets too.

The lead bt loads look like Gallery Practice MkII Cartridges. Some were made with fired cases reloaded at Dominion Arsenal and others used new brass.

I got some old (not as old tho) .303 rounds too. 1944 Mk VII.

They go like this: Me pull trigger. Pin smacks round. 2 very long WTF seconds go by. BOOM! Me miss target.

I shot 2 then put 'em away. Too sketchy.

I have a 1941 Mk4 Z round too (that I'm saving I guess). Nothing special I guess xept it's loaded with Nitrocellulose. And it has a white tip on the bullet. Anyone know what that is?

Was your 1944 not stored properly? I have some 1943 MKVIIz that goes bang everytime. I got 12 sealed boxes of the stuff.

My grampa gave 'em to me. So probably not. He said they used to use them but that was a while ago. They probably went half stale between then and now. They were and are in an old tin tobacco box. Colored bands on them too which is weird.

Is there any surplus .303 ammo around or is that all gone by now?
