They are still white folks! Neon bunny hunting today. They were sadly mistaken thinking they blended into brown boreal forest.
Ninety percent white.
Two with 28 gauge today. Fifteen yards and through 3 inch spruce and the other just over thirty yards, Winchester 1 ounce #6 modified choke. No parasites.

I feel remiss not adding it was wonderful out there. About a mile from my hunting spot a bald eagle perched on a high tree on my westward horizon.
Sometimes I see a great barred owl hereabouts too.
I do miss seeing the one local lynx though. Almost four years since it showed itself.
The forest is a nice place to visit.

Out walking too. Saw some mulies yesterday and summer birds are starting to arrive. Beautiful week so far. The dog and I are glad winter is over. But I hear the ticks are waking up.

We have a resident population of the big jackrabbits that we feed over the winter with carrots. When we step outside and break the carrots in half it’s like a dinner bell, they come out of the green belt which borders our home. We do it for our grandchildren who love seeing them. Ours are about 70% grey at this point. We live in Sherwood Park, Alberta and have had four moose in our backyard at the same time. Great entertainment for all of us.

Yeah just seeing wildlife does something good for our human souls. Went for a wilderness walk and didn't bag anything at all. Which is just fine. Kept the woodpecker the whiskey jack and the one squirrel amused.
The nearby hemlock forest which I rarely explore is a nightmare of blowdowns. Forty minutes of good exercise in good fresh air!
