Hello all I'm wondering what should I use DPMS or SR-25 parts, the manufacturer said they are both compatible, I'm looking to build a target rifle, but incase the AR is required classified a hunting rifle too lol

KAC bolts, barrels and receivers are what make them awesome. And they're damn near impossible to get your hands on!

5 years with my DPMS bolt and carrier group and it has worked perfectly inside of a Mega receiver set and using a DPMS barrel extension.

If you want accuracy then spend money to get a quality barrel, bcg, trigger and receiver set. Lower parts, buffer tubes and rails can be whatever suits your taste. Just make sure you rail's barrel nut is compatible with the receiver

Ironically I have a mega maten upper and lower coming, and was wondering which I should go for, the bcg and barrel is the next big purchases for me to buy after the recievers, the handguard and barrel nut comes with it all, and the buffer tube I was in the future going to get a prescription but for now an A2 setup or the bcm minimalist stock

My original barrel was a 24" DPMS bull (.936" gas block) take-off, was a heavy son of a gun but shot awesome! Then had ATRS make a 20" bull and that shot well, was kind of expensive... this winter I had Bob Jury build me a 18.5" medium (.750 gas block) contour SS barrel. I haven't had a chance to shoot the Jury barrel yet. I have a friend cerakoting it and polishing the chamber.

If (when...) I do it again, I'll get a Rainier or Fulton barrel brought in through CTC Supplies. The barrels are well made and I would expect to pay around $500. The ATRS and Jury barrels came in well above that.

One thing I've grown to love is the JP silent captured spring buffer setup. Works awesome for tuning with the spring kit.

If you're not concerned with weight, I'm selling the DPMS barrel. Has about 300 rounds through it and shoots 168 AMAX over Varget into ragged holes.

Edit: FYI, anything Rainier carries in the US can be had through CTC
